Welcome to the companion Web site for the first edition of the book PHP & MySQL for Dynamic Web Sites: Visual QuickPro Guide, written by Larry Ullman and published by Peachpit Press. This site supports the first edition of the book, published in May 2003. The book is currently in its second edition, published in June 2005. If you are using the second edition of the book, you should go to that Web site.

The third edition, titled PHP 6 and MySQL 5 for Dynamic Web Sites: Visual QuickPro Guide, will be published by Peachpit Press in December 2007. For more information on it, see its pages.

This site is intended to augment the information presented in the book, as well as to correct any errors that may be present. As with all Web sites, the content here will be constantly changing so please continue to check back time and again for more useful information.

My latest book, Building a Web Site with Ajax: Visual QuickProject Guide was released in August 2007. It provides a book-length tutorial on adding Ajax functionality to a site using PHP, MySQL, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. There's lots of usable-code that's cross-browser compliant!
